Audit before you redesign

Start by listing the pages you have, the enquiries they support and the content customers use. Record important URLs and review available traffic or conversion data. Ask the team which questions the current website fails to answer. A redesign should solve identifiable problems, not simply replace a familiar layout with something newer.

Define the pages and journeys

Map the essential path from a visitor’s first page to an enquiry or other business action. Give each service a clear place in the navigation. Decide which content to keep, improve, combine or retire. Agree on the structure before detailed design so the project does not become a collection of disconnected screens.

Protect important URLs

Keep existing URLs when there is no good reason to change them. If a URL must move, document its relevant replacement and implement the appropriate redirect. Update internal links and review metadata on revised pages. Avoid redirecting every removed page to the homepage when a more useful destination exists.

Prepare content and editable components

Gather approved copy, images and brand assets early. Define reusable Elementor sections for repeated content, but make sure each service page still answers its own questions. Name containers and widgets clearly so future editors can find them. Confirm ownership and licenses for fonts, images and premium tools.

Test before launch

Review the staging site on desktop and mobile. Check navigation, forms, error messages, confirmation screens and email routing. Confirm backups and a rollback plan. Check that any staging restrictions do not accidentally prevent indexing after launch, while private test pages remain protected.

Monitor after launch

Recheck key pages and forms immediately after deployment. Review broken links, indexing signals and enquiry trends as data becomes available. Keep the old URL inventory and migration notes. A redesign is complete when customers can use the new website reliably and your team can maintain it confidently.
